Saddened to hear the news that Richard Douthwaite just passed away after a period of illness. Richard was a tremendous pioneer and thought leader who championed economies that functioned in balance with and of the ecology. Last night I attended a gathering of merchants, service providers and others who support local independent businesses in our town. It was a festive affair of about three dozen featuring a pot luck dinner, good conversation, and a few announcements about the emerging organization. Stroud Pound to be Launched in Threadneedle Street
The official unveiling of the exquisitely designed Stroud Pound will take place on Threadneedle Street, outside the offices of the Stroud Valleys Project and opposite Stroud’s very own Old Lady (Teashop) on Saturday 12th September at 10 am.
